What is the “Embodying the Dark Goddess” Course?
A commitment to self
We’ll be spending six weeks together, with each week being focused on a different Dark Goddess. There will be a video to watch on your own time but communal time to build on what was shared in the video. There will be a community discord space as well to talk about our journey. This is a commitment to rediscovering yourself, and gaining a new understanding through shadow work before we enter 2021.
a magical journey and mentorship
This isn’t just focused on lectures and learning about deities. I will be providing rituals, magical baths recipes, recommendations for altars and daily meditations, and exercises to go along with these workings. I’ll be available on discord and via email to help participants through any roadblocks or to recommend any other tools that may be helpful to their specific journey.
an exploration of your inner underworld
In addition to trying to bond with the Dark Goddesses we study, this is going to be heavily focused in shadow work, and discovering our own inner darkness. Learning these parts of ourselves allows us to find ways to work with them. By allowing space in our lives for our darkness, and by releasing old wounds and contracts we no longer need, we reach a greater level of authenticity and a more powerful magical practice.

What if I’m Not Sure if I want to work with a Dark Goddess long term?
While this course will help you connect and learn about Dark Goddesses, the choice to work with a deity is between you and the deity and no one else. This course is about embodying the energy of dark goddesses so you can learn and grow in your path, craft, and as an individual.
I’m nonbinary or I’m a trans man or a Trans woman, is this going to be a safe place for me?
I believe that everyone can benefit from studying the Dark Goddesses. As someone who is gender nonconforming, I do my best to use language that is inclusive. At times, there will be moments where I focus on a topic and how it is especially prevalent in femmes, women, or those who were socialized as girls, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an educational and profound experience for those outside these experiences. With that being said, I am aware that I may not always know when I’m using harmful language and am open to feedback ALWAYS.
WHAT WILL WE BE EXPLORING IN THIS COURSE?
OMG! SO MANY THING! We’ll be actively practicing folk magic (which can be adjusted for different paths). We’ll look at how we respond to “negative” emotions and how we can actively use these in our magic instead of rejecting them. We’ll explore mythology and deities along with honoring them through our rituals. I could go on, but there’s just too much to fit in this one little paragraph!
I’m drawn to the dark goddesses but my fears or old religious upbringings make me hesitant.
I totally understand where you’re coming from. Though I’ll be talking about these deities and we’ll be doing rituals that honor them, you’re welcome to pull back if you’re not ready to honor them at any point. The rest of the course, the lectures and discussions and shadow work is going to be focused on their mythologies, but most importantly, on YOU. So even if you’re hesitant, chances are you’ll leave the course feeling a lot more comfortable.
What if I’m not a writer or I don’t like writing?
Even though we will be journaling, this is only a small part of the process. I also open the journaling up to any medium that works for you. If you need guidance in adjusting the journaling prompts, I’m readily available to help you and I’m happy to rephrase or adjust the prompt.
What if I’m a baby witch? Or what if I’m not open about my practice at home?
OMG, if you’re a baby witch, then you are in the right place! I welcome people regardless of where they are on their path, and if anything, this will help you decide what is most important in your practice. Beyond that, it will help you let go of limiting beliefs so you can more fully embody your practice!
As for not being open about your path, the rituals/spells can be adjusted to suit your needs and will not be overly elaborate (I’m disabled/chronically ill). Aside from the rituals and spells, the remainder of the work can be kept as private as you’d like it, and I can totally suggest temporary altars if needed.
